Care for Seniors
are for Seniors - Musculoskeletal Disorders
![]() |
Older individuals today are generally more concerned about their diet and digestion than about what disease may ultimately strike them down. They worry more about sleeping well, seeing and hearing adequately, looking good, having a reasonably active sex life, controlling their weight, experiencing as little pain as possible, maintaining their mental acuity, not being depressed, and remaining active and independent. These are all, to varying degrees, reliant on your musculoskeletal health.
To help prevent musculoskeletal disorders caused by the aging process, regular chiropractic adjustments are essential. As people get older, they become more susceptible to health problems that can dramatically affect their lifestyles and enjoyment of daily activities. More than two out of three people in the U.S. suffer from musculoskeletal conditions, according to a recent study. In 1992 and again in 1994, more than 8,000 people between the ages of 51 and 61 were interviewed as part of the Health and Retirement Survey. The results of the survey were that in 1992, 62.4% of those asked reported at least one musculoskeletal condition, and that number increased in 1994 to 70.5%. The researchers also estimated that almost 90% of people aged 51-61,and 40% of the general population, experience disability related to these conditions.
