Chiropractie (ook: chiropraxie) is een manuele behandelmethode voor gewrichts- en andere gezondheids problemen. Deze in 1892 in de Verenigde Staten ontwikkelde methode geniet nu bekendheid over de gehele wereld. Een beoefenaar van chiropractie wordt chiropractor genoemd.
Het woord 'chiropractie' is afgeleid van het Griekse woord 'cheir' (hand) en 'prattein' (beoefenen).Het betekent dus: met de hand beoefenen. (ook genoemd: manueel; van het latijn manus = hand).
